M tycker inte om potatis i någon form, har provat allt, men han bara spottar ut det - när jag lagar till det i alla fall. Exiles 'chips' funkar hur bra som helst och de är ju gjorda av riktiga potatisar så det har känts ok att ge honom dem nån gång då och då.

Men nu har jag hittat en sorts potatis som M gillar

Gnocchi - han tror det är pasta och det är det iof klassat som pasta men det är gjort på potatis

efter första tuggan ändrades denna min till stort leende och 10 min senare va hela skålen tom

gör en tomatsås i vårt fall blev det:

tomatsås med lite vitlök, oregano och färsk basilika

blanda ihop i en ugnsäker form och lägg på lite mozzarella och parmesan ost, in i ugnen i ca 20 min (200 grader)

det finns olika sätt att lära sig och det här va ett uppskattat sätt

fattas lite saker såsom kakel på väggarna, par skåpdörrar, dörr till bakgården och nymålade väggar, men vi är väldigt nöjda med nya layouten och den nya köksbänken.

Skilsmässa kommer att bli lagligt på Malta - bara Filippinerna  (och Vatikan staten) kvar i världen där det inte kommer vara lagligt

72% av befolkningen gick och röstade - väldigt lågt antal... Senaste valet va det 93,3%

52% har röstat ja (verkar dock inte riktigt sluträknat då de säger att slutliga siffrar väntas stiga till 54%

The Divorce Movement has declared victory in the divorce referendum, and the Prime Minister has conceded.

The PL said the 'yes' camp appears to have won 52% of the vote, with the 'no' camp winning 48%. PN sources said the 'yes' victory could be as big as 54% with a vote difference of 18,000

Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi conceded. He said the result was not what he wished for, but the will of the people had to be respected and Parliament would enact a law for the introduction of divorce.

Bara 3 distrikt röstade Nej och Gozo va nog det distrikt som fick flest Nej röster - hela 70%

Idag är det referendum på Malta - ja eller nej till skilsmässa (efter 4 års laglig separation) va frågan.

Jag va och röstade i morse då jag tycker att det är en viktig fråga för många familjer.

Har hört flera personer med, för mig, en annorlunda syn på skilsmässa. De säger att de ska rösta Nej av den enda anledningen att de är rädda för att deras partner ska begära skilsmässa om Malta får en lag som tillåter skilsmässa - Hur är deras förhållande?....

Andra för att kyrkan säger att man ínte ska skilja sig, vilket för en djupt troende säkert är den rätta vägen, sen att man har massa andra synder i sin garderob glöms gärna bort.

Det finns även de som ska rösta nej av den anledningen att deras politiska parti har tagit avstånd mot skilsmässa.

It saddens me to realise that parochialism is still so strong. The divorce debate has now taken new a dimension with ‘for’ and ‘against’ lobbies, both working hard to convince all voters that theirs is the correct argument.

We also have the Labour Party which will not commit itself and the Nationalist Party committed against. The Catholic Church too has entered the fray with pastoral letters and other means of mobilising the faithful.

What stupefies me is that nobody has yet managed to call a spade a spade.

Malta has had divorce for the past 100 years or so. Divorce is when a couple present themselves in front of a judge who will divide their assets between them; then their children, if any (probably giving custody to the wife/their mother) and then one goes north and the other goes south, not married any more.

We’ve had this for ages but in Catholic Malta we don’t call it divorce but ‘legal separation’. What we don’t have here, unlike the rest of the world, is the right to remarry. And that is what we should be arguing about, not divorce but remarriage. We do not need a new law for divorce but an amendment to the current law to allow remarriage.

With all this in mind I cannot understand the argument being brought up that divorce ruins the family and consequently society.

If it does, it has been doing this for a very long time and consequently I wonder what prompts the ‘against’ lobby to argue against it now. They should have been at it for decades.

The fact remains that, with all the good intentions in the world, marriages break down. When that happens so much bad blood is created that one rarely can go back and pick up the pieces.

Does that mean, in our democratic society, that the couple (especially if they are not rich and influential enough to obtain one or two annulments) are then condemned for life and have to remain celibate; or even worse go and live with somebody else with no legal safeguards, not even for future offspring?

And what about the bride who erroneously thinks that marriage will mellow her groom but instead, as bills pile up, he becomes more aggressive? Doesn’t she have a right to a good and protected life with somebody else?

It think it is time we faced facts and realised that broken marriages are already there; and giving one or both partners the right to remarry will not turn Malta into another Gomorrah.

It will just give legal protection to the remarried partner and his/her children.
